One of three sites for new affordable housing for the City of Aspen, Castle Creek is located on the outskirts of town with views of Shadow Mountain overlooks Marolt Open Space. Two lots constitute this development, with a total of 24 single-bedroom units and 6 two-bedroom units. Modernist architecture in Aspen became a physical manifestation of the Aspen Idea of mind|body|spirit. The mixed neighborhood contexts across the 3 affordable housing sites lends itself to the modular massing and flat roofs characteristic of Modernist design.
